SWOC INVITES YOU TO A WELSH LEAGUE EVENT AT

KING’SWOOD, near MONMOUTH, Sunday, 8thDec 2019

Venue & Travel:

King’s Wood and the Hendre are part of the Rolls Estate and are managed by Natural Resources Wales. We are grateful to both these bodies for the use of the area.

APPROACH FROM THE SOUTH ON A40: take the B4293 sliproad immediately after the Gibraltar Tunnels on the outskirts of Monmouth. Continue north-west on B4233 through Rockfield.

APPROACH FROM THE NORTH ON A40: take the sliproad immediately before the Gibraltar Tunnels – first junction after the traffic lights at Wye Bridge. At the top of the sliproad turn right onto the B4293. Turn left at the mini-roundabout by the garage and continue straight on to the B4233 through Rockfield.

Then all follow o-signs into area and park as indicated. Entry to area is at Grid ref: 161/SO461146 (nearest postcode: NP25 5SX). Linear parking on forest roads. Please drive slowly on forest roads. (Potholes have been made good!)

Terrain:

Mixed woodland, with a path network enabling route choice. Hilly with some steep slopes and contour detail.

1:10:000 with 5 m contours. Surveyed and drawn Dec 2013 by Peel Land Surveys and updated 2019 by Marcus Pinker. The maps are printed on waterproof paper.
