Planner's Notes

Given the weather we had in the last few days (and every time I visited Parc

Cwm Darran), waking up to glorious sunshine was quite wonderful, and this

was reflected in a good turnout. Although cold and soggy underfoot, I think

everyone enjoyed the weather as much as I did. The challenge when planning

was to avoid the many "crossable" barbed-wire fences, which required using

control sites based on location, not always ideal. Some legs on the orange course

were quite challenging, and I must apologise that the ride into control 3 wasn't

quite as clear as it could have been. Many thanks to Stuart Lewis for helping me put out and check the controls, and

the various people who collected them in. Kate also had plenty of helpers bagging

maps and getting the start underway. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed Kate's

cakes - the money raised will go to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
