This is an archive of previous evening events that are are available to complete anytime you just need to download the app and print off a map.

The best way to do an event is to load the event onto your phone using the MapRun App but download and print a pdf of the map and use that to plan your route and to use for navigation during your run.
Load the phone maps using the MapRun app. The Events are in the (MR)UK / Wales / South Wales folder.
NOTE – Runners should be aware that MapRun events are not covered by BOF 3rd party insurance.

Gwaelod-y Garth MapRun Orienteering
3 linear courses in Gwaelod-y-Garth woods. The Short and Long are suitable for experienced orienteers. The Easy course is suitable for beginners. The start and finish are on the path which starts opposite the turning to Garth Tyres.
As all of the control sites are under tree cover GPS reception can be poor. On my phone all of the controls were OK using a 15m sensitivity radius. The control descriptions can be downloaded here.

NOTE – recent events have been set up so that you can start at any control. The original start control on the map gets converted to a normal control – usually following on from the highest number already on the map. To use this feature you need to update to the latest version of MapRunF.
